About my site

Havron eLearning Hub's mission is to bridge the skills-gap in Africa through online learning programs and career pathways. The vision is to be the leading online learning hub in Africa. The site has been hosting eDGH courses since 2015 and has hosted nine (9) courses within the eDGH course catalog. Havron eLearning Hub is distinct in how our operations extend beyond the courses offered by eDGH. Our network comprises of members with diversified interests and so it keeps growing with very minimal tendency for fatigue. Even when our network members have taken part in all relevant courses from eDGH, they still find our free online capacity building programs useful. Havron offers free and paid versions of soft skills courses and computer-based program trainings which are aimed at improving productivity and performance at workplace. The free versions of our programs have exerted magnetic influence on the network growth. Havron operates an Ambassadorial scheme where some members who love what it is doing volunteer to be referral agents and are called Havron Ambassadors. This has also contributed to the growth of the network. Today, Havron operates from Nigeria with presence in Cameroon, Ghana, Lesotho, Liberia, Sierra Leone with scanty upcoming cells in Togo and DRC. Havron has a team of Instructors who facilitate Peer-2-Peer learning sessions of all the programs we host. Registered participants for eDGH courses are primed to act as facilitators with the support of the team of Instructors. Recently, Havron introduced a virtual graduation ceremony for eDGH courses which has been applauded by participants. We are currently organizing the follow-on edition of the virtual graduation ceremony. Personal Support: Scanned copies of certificates: Havron scans and email scanned certificates to participants even when they require to submit copies before distribution. Payment support: Participants who need to replace their certificates sometimes find it difficult to pay the replacement fees. Havron supports such participants at no extra cost. Videos to support seamless learning: At the start of courses, Havron shares videos that enhance seamless learning. Such videos demonstrate how to install Canvas app so they can study on their mobile apps, videos that demonstrate how to submit assignments with attachments and videos that demonstrate how to write to the Teaching Assistants. Havron is generally open to considering requests for support from participants and offers those within its resources.

Educational background:
Pharm Samson Emelike obtained a Bachelor of Pharmacy from University of Jos, Nigeria in 1996 and a Post Graduate Diploma in Development Studies from Bayero University in 2008. He proceeded to study Masters in Public Health in Central University of Nicaragua between 2014 and 2017. And in 2019, he admitted in Empower School of Health, Switzerland where he was conferred with a Post graduate diploma in Global Health Procurement and Supply Chain Management.
Pharm Samson Emelike's quest for capacity building led him to enroll for the online course Leadership and Management in Health from the University of Washington Global Health ELearning in 2013. During this first exposure to the University course, he was nominated by the SIDHAS project consortium to facilitate the course.

Motivation:
Having been impacted by the course, he was inspired to be a bridge for others to partake of the rich content of the program. He created Havron as a site which has now training many other professionals. This inspiration coincided with the desire he had been nursing for years to create access to flexible academic programs that will enable working professionals to continue their work while studying. This contact with University of Washington Global Health ELearning sparked off the exponential growth of what is today known as the Havron Network with the operational site as Havron eLearning Hub.
