Fundamentals of Global Health Research
Fundamentals of Global Health Research: Planning, Implementation, and Dissemination is designed to train participants in the development and conduct of research globally, with an emphasis on low-resource settings. Topics covered include proposal writing, quantitative and qualitative study designs, designing study instruments, data management, budget and grants management, research ethics and human subjects, manuscript development and presentation skills.
It was created to provide participants anticipating a research-oriented career with the tools they need to develop and design a research study, write a successful proposal, and conduct research independently in an international setting.

We are making part of the first module available for free so that you can guage whether the content level is right for you. This free access is available anytime- there is no need to log into our system or identify yourself. We have not included discussions or assignments but you will have access to lectures and readings. This online course has video lectures, readings, discussion forums, quizzes, and assignments.
You can participate in this course as an independent participant or as part of a site with 5 or more people. Participating as a site group provides a forum for discussing course concepts and applying them to local context and customs. If you are participating independently, the online discussion boards provide a forum for these types of discussion.
The course is taught in English. Participants should be comfortable with written and spoken English.
To be admitted to the course you must have a Bachelor’s-level degree (or equivalent) and experience in a health-related field.
You can enroll in this course as part of a registered site group or you can apply as an independent participant. If part of a site group, your site coordinator will manage your group's enrollment fee. You may be asked to contribute towards the cost. If an independent participant, you will be invoiced based on details and preferences you note in your application. Invoices are sent soon after the application period is over.
