KAYODE, Olalekan Victor is passionate about contributing to science through innovative and translational research. He holds a Master of Science degree in Public Health Biotechnology from the University of Ibadan where he worked and participated in various studies of public health importance over the past 16 years. During this period, he has acquired a vast knowledge of his field and honed his Laboratory skills. His research interest focuses on genetics and molecular characterization of infectious diseases and viral immunology. He is currently the deputy quality control Manager in the HIV laboratory of the Department of Virology University of Ibadan- Nigeria, where he assists the quality manager in the implementation of the ISO 15189 quality management system in the laboratory, providing technical assistance to all units, monitoring the turnaround time for laboratory tests. He has been trained in different laboratory techniques used as tools for viral diagnosis, investigations of disease surveillance, intervention during a pandemic, and laboratory monitoring through the quality management system. Those skills he gathered with advanced instrument in Molecular biology, Serology, Flowcytometry, as well as Chemiluminescence of Biochemical parameters in monitoring therapy has given him the opportunity to lead positively and impact teams, develop and add value to any system or circle he found himself. He is a leader with proven expertise in operations, production, human management, and an unquenchable thirst for teaching/learning and research. Quick adaption to new challenges and willingness to learn are the strengths that get him easily motivated.
